Another memorable moment for David was when he helped a bachelor successfully propose to his fiancée on the London Eye. The man wanted something extraordinary, and David came up with a creative plan. They arranged a private pod on the London Eye, complete with champagne and a romantic setting. To add a dramatic touch, David provided large boards with the question “Will you marry me?” written on them. The groom used a torch to signal David, who then displayed the message so the bride could see it from her seat.
This thoughtful gesture paid off, as the proposal was accepted. David’s ability to think outside the box and create unique experiences is what makes him stand out in his profession.
When it comes to advising first-time visitors to London, David recommends taking an open-top bus tour. He emphasizes the importance of staying on the bus throughout the entire route, even if the tour offers a hop-on, hop-off option. “If you get off, you’ll waste time waiting for another bus instead of seeing all the major sights,” he explains.
He also suggests avoiding peak travel times such as school holidays, Easter, Christmas, or bank holidays, as these periods tend to be extremely busy. Instead, he recommends visiting London in late September or early October, or during spring before Easter. These times offer a more relaxed experience without the crowds.
Despite working in the industry for many years, David still finds his job exciting. He says he has never felt reluctant to go to work, as each day brings new and different experiences. While some days may involve repeating the same questions, he doesn’t mind, as he already knows the answers.
